Location:  Head office and travelling to Province.

Contract period: 6-month

Allowance and benefits:  US$75 per month plus insurance, on leave days including public holidays, on job training, recommendation letter and access to API assets.

Introduction to API

The Advocacy and Policy Institute (API) is a Cambodian non-profit and non-government organisation with a mission to serve the long-term democratic and social development needs of Cambodia. Job Purpose

The intern will assist to program team and admin/ finance team and also travel to province if needed. He/she will report directly to line supervision.


Main responsibilities are: 

1.     The role in Program Team: He/she is responsible for assisting program team in logistic and administration support of each events, obtain and prepare invoices/ receipts and other relevant supporting documents for cash settlement and ensuring the expenditures are accuracy and complying to API’s Procedures and policies, participate in Monitoring and Evaluation process of the projects such as data collection and data entry, as minute taker and develop progress report , capture challengesand produce monthly work plan of the program in the target areas based on API formats

2.     The role in Admin and Finance Team: She/ he is responsible for assisting to process document for approval, checking supporting documents and make sure it well preparation by following organizational procedure, participate with the procurement committee, administrative support to program staff, logistic arrangement on the meeting and other tasks assigned.

3.     Organisational support:

·       Participating in the formulation of API’s programmes, policies and strategies.

·       Playing a constructive part in staff meetings and participating in API’s functions.

·       Complying with API’s policies and procedures.

·       Promoting gender equity within the API team and integrate gender equity awareness within all aspects of the access to Information Programme.

·       Providing information for partner organisations, other members of staff and activity participants in a timely fashion.

·       Undertaking other reasonable and appropriate duties as assigned by API staff.


The applicant

We are looking for an individual who possesses the following skills and experience:



  • Fresh graduation in university of Law, rural development, management, business administration or others and must be Cambodian. 
  • Be flexible, honest and commit to work with local authority, community based organization, groups and local citizens, good speaking and writing of English and good communication and facilitation skills and Work independence or team
  • Must have knowledge of computer and internet (word, Excel or SPSS…) and Internet, Email and Knowledge and experiences on administration and financial management support
  • Knowledge and experiences on Decentralisation & De-concentration and sub-national democratic development, advocacy and access to information, and Cambodia general situation is a plus, IT is perfect.
  • Full time working and willing to travel to API target area

All applicants should have good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work well in a team; proficiency in the use of software packages, computerised system, Microsoft Office including Internet and E-mail, SPSS etc.
