The Advocacy and Policy Institute (API) is a leading Cambodian capacity-building organization in the areas of advocacy, policy influence, citizen engagement, and good governance. Project brief
The ROKSI with API project is a collaborative effort to strengthen economic resilience and social protection among informal workers and micro-entrepreneurs in Cambodia. Building on Mission Alliance’s digital coaching pilot, the programme delivers scalable, rights-based support to the informal economy, aligned with the Green Economic Resilience framework. Over four years, the programme aims to engage 1,500+ informal workers and micro-entrepreneurs, integrating digital tools, peer learning, outreach, and policy engagement to empower informal workers and influence systemic reforms.
API is currently seeking a Cambodian candidate for the position of Business Coach Consultant to support the implementation of the ROKSI with API project by strengthening business knowledge, digital access, and social protection for informal business owners and workers, and by contributing to evidence-based advocacy for policy reform in Cambodia’s informal economy.
Position: Business Coach Consultant
Contract type: Full-Time (Consultancy contract)
Duration: 12 months, with possible extension for up to 4 years
Location: Based in Phnom Penh (with regular field travel to target provinces: Kandal, Kampong Chhnang, Pursat, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Tbong Khmom)
Fee: Total monthly fee 800 USD, including tax.
Report to: Business Coach & Project Officer
The Business Coach Consultant will support the effective implementation of the ROKSI with API project under API. This full-time staff role focuses on coaching informal business owners, conducting outreach, organizing peer learning events, and contributing to awareness-raising on social protection and policy advocacy efforts. The Officer will receive business and coaching training from Mission Alliance and work closely with the Business Coach & Officer and API’s program team.
