Budget: 20,000 USD
Target Beneficiaries: 800 vulnerable families (501 in Khan Sen Sok, 299 in Khan Meanchey)
Introduction
The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns in Cambodia severely impacted urban poor communities, especially those in designated red zones. In response, API partnered with DCA to deliver emergency humanitarian assistance to the most affected families in Khan Sen Sok and Khan Meanchey. These areas, home to thousands of resettled and low-income households, faced food insecurity, unemployment, and limited access to basic services during the lockdown period.
The project aimed to uphold the right to life and dignity of vulnerable groups—particularly women, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities—by providing essential food supplies and hygiene items. Beneficiaries were selected through a rigorous validation process using the IDPoor system and local authority data.
