Statement Calling for Legal and Peaceful Resolution of the Cambodia–Thailand Border Conflict

| 24-February-2026
Escalating tensions along the Cambodia–Thailand border have raised urgent concerns regarding sovereignty, civilian protection, and compliance with international law. The statement highlights reported Thai military incursions, destruction of civilian infrastructure, and occupation of multiple locations inside Cambodian territory, actions that undermine ceasefire commitments and violate the UN Charter, ASEAN Charter, and bilateral agreements. It stresses the severe humanitarian impact, including mass displacement and damage to cultural heritage sites such as Preah Vihear Temple. More than 170,000 civilians remain unable to return home safely. The signatory organizations call on both States to cease unilateral actions, uphold legal obligations, and resolve disputes strictly through peaceful, lawful mechanisms to safeguard regional stability.
