OW4C: Dissemination Session in Poipet
On 20 October 2021, our One Window for Citizens team in Banteay Meanchey conducted a virtual door-to-door dissemination campaign on the tech tools available to citizens living in Sangkat Nimit (Poipet). The purpose of the campaign was to show them how to access information related to the One Window Service Office (OWSO) in their city, the provincial level One Window Service Unit, as well as the provincial and municipal administrations, using social media (Facebook) or, simply, using their phones. A number of 45 citizens participated in the event, almost half of them were women. During the event, our project staff offered general orientation on the project, its implementing and funding partners, and its target areas. We also presented the roles and responsibilities of the OWSO and of the local administration offices. Our Facebook chatbot Pidor and our interactive voice response tool were also presented to the participants. At the end of the dissemination campaign, the participants had gained a good amount of real practice with the Facebook chatbot and the phone information hotline.
One week later, on October 26, we held a meeting with the Poipet municipal administration in order to discuss the achievements of the OW4C project over the past five months, as well as the results of the community scorecard evaluations and the responses of the service providers. We also talked about the procedures required for becoming a member of the District Accountability Working Group. The meeting was attended by Poipet district councillors, the deputy city governor, the chiefs of the OWSO and the Municipal Office, as well as by NGO representatives and ordinary citizens. The officials responded to all requests of citizens related to public services.
