Youths Reflect on Commune Planning and Budgeting

In our project called “Youth Participation in Local Planning and Budgeting”, on July 15, 2021, we conducted a reflection meeting in order to identify and share lessons learned and good practices, challenges encountered during the project implementation, and explore possible solutions. Almost 50 participants attended the meeting, the majority of whom were women. While commune councillors appreciated the commitment of the youths, underlining the importance of citizen participation for local planning and budgeting, youth representatives also appreciated the project, saying it had made them more confident to engage with the commune council members, understand the roles and responsibilities of these institutions better, and more interested in commune investment planning. Although the project is now completed, young citizens remain active and continue to participate in the commune investment planning process.
