Local Councillors Consolidate Good Governance Skills

API, Aide et Action (AEA) and six Provincial Associations of Local Councillors organised an online training session dedicated to good governance and citizen participation on July 9, 2021. Around 80 local councillors, a quarter of whom were women, took part in this activity and reflected on their governance practices, as well as on the participation opportunities they offered their constituents. The survey we proposed showed that 10% of the officials who attended scored “average”, 53% scored “well” and 37% scored “very well.” Most participants said they enjoyed the online tutorial. In particular, they liked the content related to their work life balance, as well as the facilitation skills and the methods applied. This is an activity supported by the European Union, and it is part of our common project called “Enhancing the Institutional and Operational Capacity of the Local Councillors’ Associations”.
