Advocacy Skills for Women Street Vendors

On August 5, 2021, we were very happy to congratulate the 20 young female entrepreneurs and youth representatives who had just become mentors, helping other members of their community-based organisations by sharing their newly acquired advocacy skills. Economic and social rights are one of the major problems street vendors in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Battambang are confronted with, especially in the context of the restrictions on economic activity imposed by the government during the Covid-19 crisis situation. Funded by USAID through Pact Cambodia, our We Act project tries to identify answers to these issues. After they successfully completed a six-day training course and and some field practice, the new mentors were able to master the basic principles and methods of advocacy and explain them to their peers. The training course was jointly API, IDEA and CPDD, as the three project implementing partners.
