Water Filters and Training Courses for Vulnerable Groups

At the end of May, in our EU-funded project called “Strengthening the Institutional and Operational Capacity of Provincial Associations of Local Councillors”, vulnerable groups in two districts of Pursat benefitted from the purchase of water purifiers in the context of the efforts for Covid-19 prevention. Training courses in practical livelihood skills such as animal husbandry were also offered to low income families in two further districts of the same province. Starter kits were provided to the participants, enabling them to immediately apply what they have learned from the course.

These steps came about in the framework of small scale initiatives by local councils. API is implementing this project together with Aide et Action (AEA), as well as with the Provincial Associations of Local Councillors in Pursat, Banteay Meanchey, Kampong Thom, Kandal, Kampong Speu, and Kep.
