CBOs Learn About Decentralisation and Budgets

On April 19-21 and April 27-29, 2021, our project team offered online training courses for community based organisations (CBOs), discussing the topics of functional transfer and budgeting at the district level, as well as communication and advocacy. The audience was very diverse, including youths, people with disabilities, and representatives of local initiatives from various forestry, fisheries, and farming communities located in five provinces, as well as savings groups, environmental initiatives and youth groups from Phnom Penh. During the courses, we noticed that the participants were able to use social media (google meet, telegram), and we were glad to see that they actively participated and gained new knowledge, preparing advocacy actions addressed to local authorities. The training course is part of our project called “Citizens’ Voices and Actions for Sustainable Development in Cambodia”, which is funded by Bread for the World and DanChurchAid. The project will continue to support small-scale CBO initiatives and continue to provide coaching to them.
