API Won First Place Award on most significant change story for the WE ACT

Advocacy and Policy Institute (API) got first place award on most significant change story for the We Act Programme, organized by PACT.

This is not coincident, API have moved on a big step in developing its internal policies and human resources after we joined We Act, until we got the award on good governance standards and professional operations (GPP) from Cooperation Committee for Cambodia (CCC).

In the implementation of the Women Entrepreneur in Cambodia (We Act), we have supported street vendors to have social protection and National Social Security Fund (NSSF) from the government; the workers in the informal sector countrywide also benefit also from this project. The government does not forcefully evict street vendors who are selling on the streets and open for dialogue in every three to six months in Phnom Penh and the target provinces. In addition, in its seventh mandate, the government put priority to improve the informal sector. Thank to We Act, PACT, USAID and implementing partners such as Independent Democracy of Informal Economy Association (IDEA) and The Coalition for Partnership in Democratic Development (CPDD), vendors and the government that API has the opportunity work with street vendors.
